The wool for Tukuwool DK comes from Finnish sheep farms that grow Finnsheep and Finnsheep/Texel breeds. Woolen spun Finnsheep wool is warm and airy, soft and rustic. Approximately 22 sts per 10 cm on 4mm needles. You may go with needles 3.75-4.5 and the gauge will be between 18-22 sts. Depending on your project, you may choose Tukuwool DK even though the pattern calls for a worsted weight yarn. Swatching is the best method to find out if the yarn suits the pattern.
Tukuwool DK is at its best in colorwork as well as structures such as cables. After wet blocking, the stitches relax and the fabric softens and evens.
