The Kordy Sweater KAL with Wool & Waves!
The Kordy Sweater is a gender fluid, size inclusive sweater designed by Canadian designers and twin sisters Kiyomi Burgin and Sachiko Burgin.
This gorgeous sweater has a fun colourwork yoke, is knit top down and is designed for a heavy worsted weight yarn, Peace Fleece. This American wool yarn is a blend of 75% Navajo Rambouillet & Domestic Fine Wool/25% Mohair, making for cozy sweaters that can be worn for years to come.
KAL Registration opens THURSDAY, SEPT 2nd and closes MONDAY, SEPT 20th.
WHAT: CAST ON PARTY via Zoom
WHERE: ZOOM - hosted by Christine of Wool & Waves
WHEN: THURSDAY, OCT 7th at 6 PM (pst) | 7 PM (mst) | 9 PM (est)
All KAL participants will be entered to win a sweet ol' prize once the KAL closes. Winners will be drawn on Jan 2nd, 2022.
We know that sometimes the best laid plans can sometimes go off the rails so we want to give everyone PLENTY of time to get their Kordy sweater done and off the blocking mats. We are giving you all until DECEMBER 31st to finish your sweater and we will be here for you along the way with super fun and casual (not mandatory) bi-monthly checkins to discuss any obsticles you might encounter along the way and also to celebrate wins, like finishing the yoke or heading to sleeve island!
An email with check-in dates, KAL details and links to the Zoom Cast-On Party will be emailed once we receive your registration.
If you need assistance with picking your Peace Fleece colourways, Christine is available to help - simply send her a message with your ideas and she will get back to you with images and suggestions. All yarn should be shipped to you no later than Monday, September 27th if you are to receive your yarn in time for the cast-on party. Not going to have your yarn in time for the Cast On Party? That's OK! Register anyway and cast on when you get your goodies!
Already have your yarn and want to cast on? DO IT!! Here is a tutorial that walks us through swatching for the Kordy yoke.
